I spoke too soon!
Immediately after my previous post, I got up to look in the tank to see if I could find any more eggs and... I saw a baby Triop! I woke Kayla (sorry!) in my excitement and she saw it too!
After visiting the bathroom, I returned to gaze at our beautiful baby Triop and I spotted a second one!
Thus, one rainy night in September, two baby Triops were born! I'm gonna try to take pics but they're MINUSCULE.
Edit: Sorry, did I say 2? I meant 6! Pics were impossible but video of the little guys will be up tomorrow.

No signs of life
No, there are no signs of life YET, but we did finally find an egg. It's bright red and very tiny and shortly after finding it, we lost it again.
But there ARE eggs in there!

SAD 2
I'm pretty sure you mean what are WE doing with OUR lives. Because we're both still awake, waiting for Triops to hatch.
They have their own light now, but it's definitely not staying on 24 hours a day. It'll be on until I go to bed.

SAD
Still no signs of life.
What am I doing with MY life?
It's three in the A and I'm still wide awake.

Just an afterthought...
Oh. I hope the fact that we used TAP water instead of Brita water or distilled water doesn't kill them.
I'm keeping my thoughts optimistic and hoping the iron helps them out. Hah.

Still day 1
Nothing to update. The water is still waiting for the Triops to hatch, just Kim saying hi!
Day One
In the past few days Kim and I have been discussing ordering a kit off of the internet to hatch and grow ourselves some new pets (that fall within all of the rules that residence life has on pets. [ONLY FISH]). These new pets are called triops. I just so happened to discover said kit while wandering aimlessly around Hobby Lobby's "science aisle". I felt like it was fate and that I was meant to buy them. They were 30% off after all. And $10 later, we are now the proud owners of a habitat of triops. Or, at least the eggs until they hatch.

Thus far we have achieved washing the sand (yes, it was a necessity), placing the castle in the tank, filling the tank with water, and actually placing the triop eggs into the water. Now we just have to wait around for them to hatch.
